The aim of the session is to provide ‘top tips in managing anxious dental patients’ that can be applied by delegates in general practice.
In this session, delegates will benefit from the speaker’s wide range of training and experience in the field of dental anxiety management. The ‘tips’ will include clinical, technological, dental materials, psychological, behavioural and pharmacological
By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
- Define dental anxiety, fear and phobia
- Understand what conscious sedation options are available
- Define hypnosis, trance and suggestion
- Recognise alternative Local Anaesthetic techniques
- Utilise basic relaxation, desensitisation and distraction techniques.
- Understand how choice of materials can affect the management of anxious patients.
